Tahoe-Pyramid Bikeway News

Join us at the annual Kickoff Party on January 9, 2018 between 5-7 pm at the Wild River Grille Restaurant in downtown Reno, Nevada to hear about the 2017 trail construction and learn about the coming 2018 construction plans to complete the last section of trail between Reno, NV and Truckee, CA.  No host bar except for those who make their annual $100.00 donation to for the Century Circle dues  will receive a token for a free beer or wine.

As of November 2017, you can travel downstream from Boca for a 2 mile out-and-back by following Hirschdale Road to its east end and then continuing on our newly built dirt trail.  Be aware that this trail does NOT yet connect to Floriston.

USA TODAY says Tahoe-Pyramid Bikeway one of the 15 best free things to do in Nevada!

Thank you to volunteers and our great contractor, the trail is open all 11 miles from Floriston to Verdi just in time for summer riding!

See current site specific conditions on the Use the Trail” page for the section you are going to visit, as there are often temporary closures or repairs that may affect your ride.

Thank you supporters!

Thank you to everyone who came out for the 2017 Tahoe-Pyramid Bikeway Bike-a-Thon!

Beginner through experienced riders rode 97 hours in 15 classes for approximately 1,940 total miles throughout the day! They were led in each class by Great Basin Bicycle’s Rich Staley (201 miles) or Cat Gardella (100 miles). Non-riders brought food, cheered on riders, and shared information about the Bikeway with many visitors to the bike shop. Enthusiastic supporters who heard about the event stopped by just to donate. It was really a fun day!

The bike-a-thon raised just over $1200 for the Tahoe-Pyramid Bikeway. This exceeded our original maximum expected donations! More importantly, this event increased awareness of the Bikeway to cyclists and the general community. None of this would have been possible without the generosity and partnership of Great Basin Bicycles and volunteers from Tahoe-Pyramid Bikeway. Thank you!

Each year, we have over 100 donors who give $100 each or more. The money raised by the Century Circle giving campaign is used for trail planning and design, as well as modest administrative costs. If you want to join the donor list, click here.

Thanks to all who donated so far in 2016!

DO YOU HAVE A CORPORATE EMPLOYER WHO MATCHES YOUR DONATION?  Many companies will match their employees’ charitable donations dollar for dollar.  So be sure to ask (probably the HR department or community relations).  Thanks to Chevron and Haws Corp for their match donations!

If you would like to know about how to create a challenge grant (you match donations from smaller donors) or a bequest, please call us at 775-825-9868.
